My Gran was the strongest person in our family even when she was diagnosed with cancer. She told everyone around her she was ready to go and be with God as she had lived her life and watched her family grow. She was proud of us all and loved each of us with all her heart when she left us there was a huge void which people told me would soon begin to get smaller but the pain is just as fresh as it was when she went away.My Granny was the only person in my family who accepted me for who I was,she didn't want anything special for me as she thought what I already had and did was special. In her last few years she stayed at Abbyfield Retirement Home in Beaufort Road in W-S-M and then at the Weston Hospicare, when I went to see her she would put her arms around me and hug me as tight as she could and then show me off to everyone telling them what I was doing with my life. She was more than just my Gran she was my friend too and when she left it left a huge void in my life. Her last wish was to see my boyfriend so she could see the face of the man who would look after her great-grandaughter,after he had left she told me he was a true man who would certainly look after me and wouldn't hurt me intentionally,I know she was right.Granny is survived by my Nanny,2 grandchildren and 7 Great-grandchildren,thats not including my Grandad's family as he had children from a previous marriage I've only ever met 1 of her step-children as Grandad had left before we were born.Bye Granny we'll hug again someday please watch over me til then.Love you loads your great-grandaughter and wee bonny lass Mari XXXXXXXX
