Tommy Jeffrey Hood, Sr. was a wise old man, loving and devoted husband, Dad, Granddad, Great granddad and Great-great granddad, brother, uncle and friend. He was my Dad. I am the youngest of seven children and the only girl. He always called me the last pee in the dish, I used to hate for him to say that, but he always said it whenever I was with him. He would say it to any and everyone from his doctor to strangers on the street. I would give anything to hear him say it now. My dad was diagnosed with colon cancer in 1992, he had surgery and came through with flying colors, however, he also had three heart attacks and did not tell anyone. You see my Dad was from the old school. He believed that men were supposed to be strong and hide all their pain. My Dad was 82 years old when the Lord called him home on April 28, 2001. The doctor said his heart stopped beating when he arrived at the hospital. You fought a good fight Daddy. My Dad had been sick for the last 8 to 9 years of his life. I miss you Daddy, but I know you are not in anymore pain and you don't have to suffer anymore. It is so weird that you and Lil Bro(my youngest brother) were born on the same day and left us on almost the same day. I guess you couldn't stand to see Li Bro suffering so you brought him home to be with you. My brother passed away the day before my Dad's funeral.
I miss your strong voice when I would come through the front door saying, "Is that my baby?" I'm trying to hold the family together. But it is so hard without you and Ma here to help me. But I'm going to do my best and let God take care of the rest!!! Love you and missing you much!!!
You Baby girl,
