Savanella, Isabelle Frances Hogan (1925 - 2008)

ISABELLE FRANCES (HOGAN) SAVANELLA

Isabelle passed away peacefully on April 13, 2008 at her grandaughter's home in Somers CT. She is predeceased by her partner and the love of her life, Dominic Eugene Savanella as well as her siblings: Ruth Mae Gallucci, Evelyn Mortensen and William E. Hogan; her son: Michael A. Savanella; a neice; Nancy Hogan Crone, and grandchildren: Jack A. Cuvier, Jr. and Jaime Savanella Messenger.

Born on April 16, 1925 to Theresa (Lundquist) and Frank Michael Hogan, she was the youngest of the four children. She resided in the Hartford area most of her life. Just out of high school in 1942, Isabelle went to California to work at the Bendix Corporation to help with the war effort. She subsequently came back to Connecticut, attended Bay Path College and then worked at SNET. She became a nurse and was an LPN for over 25 years. She also worked at The Nurses Registry with Edna Clarke, retiring only for health reasons. She was the mother of three children, Dale Jean, Michael Angelo and Norman Edward and was very active in their school PTA's and became a group leader for several youth organizations. For over thirty years, she survived an onslaught of health related problems, but, most who knew her will remember her for the bright smile and quick wit that were the core of her charms. She confronted her challenges with amazing clarity and determination. They did not stop her from sharing her genuine concern and interest in others, or sharing her words of inspiration and hope, or providing something to laugh about. She had many life long friends and made new ones very easily. Isabelle was also known for her generosity and enthusiasm in volunteering for many charities and collecting donations for charitable organizations. She had an unassuming manner that never looked for the spotlight, but she always made sure that the people she felt deserved it, got one to shine on them. For the last 27 years, she called the Immanuel House in Hartford home, enjoying the friendships and activities available there that allowed her to be both independent and an active part of the community.

She is survived by: Dale & Jack Cuvier, Sr.; Norman Edward Savanella & Al Jacob; James & Ruth Savanella and Sylvia & David Schmitt. Her grandchildren: Dawn Cuvier & Scot Arnone; Michele Cuvier, Angela & Jonathan Stein; Joseph Savanella; Derek & Patty Savanella; Jennifer Perkins; Janice Savanella, Michael & Caitlin Polvani, Judi & Jana Cole; Lucy (Savanella) Fasciano and Donna Savanella. She leaves great grandchildren: Cody Arnone; Krystal Wilson; Ricky Wilson; Kristine Savanella; Regina Dimmock; Domonica Perkins, Courtney & Angie Courchesne, Jade & Nathan Polvani and a great great grandchild: Brianna Williams.

A private memorial service celebrating Isabelle's life will be held at Farley-Sullivan Funeral home on April 27, 2008 at 11AM. A private internment service will be held at a later date at St. Benedict's Cemetary. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Isabelle's name to a charity of the donor's choice.

Every special person who touches our life, Leaves their own unique mark on our heart. A mark which can never be chizzled away, Even if the years eventually pull us apart.

We can take on their expressions and such, The more we share of ourselves together. It's those little things about another person, Which can remain a part in us forever.

People who we have met throughout our life, Become a part of the person who we are today. We learn and we grow from the relationships; Each one touching us, in it's own special way.

Those special people who can touch our lives, Are like precious jewels amongst life's treasures. They shine on us and leave a lasting impression; An unique mark on our heart; A gift without measures.
