Betty, mother to Geoff, grandmother to Bernadette and Aunt to Richard, Anne and Gill was born in Norwich, England as a Crosbie. Born to Cecil and Lila, the family moved to Australia when Betty was 5 and she grew up in Sydney. Betty married Noel and moved with him to south Asia where Noel worked as a captain of a tin dredger. Betty was active as the Secretary of the Australian Esperanto Society and the Rheumatoid Arthritis Society. Betty was honoured with a community award for her work with arthitis. Betty and Geoff Betty will be missed by all who new her and who will remember her buoyant energy, knowledge and her deep compassion and interest in people.
