INNER SELF REVEALED

Layers of time and change
Seem heavy upon my shoulders.
But what took time to build
Now fades in the light of God.
Gone are past hurts and doubts
that once shadowed my thoughts.
Released are the burdens
That seemed mine alone to carry.
And when all those layers
Have disappeared forevermore,
When I am once again
Free of all that blanketed me,
My inner self reveals
That I am and ever will be
A divine creation-
A beloved child of God.
