I am now doing what I promised I'd do, wishing I would never have to do it...
Idalieth, you will be so terribly missed, but your courage and spirit shall enlighten us all. Please look down at us from Heaven. We will keep you in our Hearts Forever...
About a Month before her death, I caught Idalieth browsing through this memorial site. She told me that she would like to have one of her own in case the unthinkable should happen, hence I promised her I would do it for her.
She was dyagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia 5 years ago, and despite her initial response to chemo was good, at the end she realised it was hopeless, she fell in depression and sunk herself into starvation state. I treated her as her psychiatrist, but she was beyond anyone's help. Her state complicated with septic shock and entered into a deep coma that lasted 3 days. Then she peacefully died today, at 10:00 o'clock in the morning. She didn't suffer, she just left great grief and sorrow behind.
Idalieth was my student, and my patient. She was a brilliant person, and she could have been a wonderful doctor. But she was terribly ill, and even though she knew she most likely wouldn't make it, she kept struggling with her cardiology residence until the end.

Idalieth, a few weeks before her passing |
Sweet Ida, you shall be missed but always remembered as the great human being you were. Your example and strength shall enlighten us all, now and forever......
Love,
Andrea.
