Adams, Brianna Nicole (2003 - 2003)

* Brianna Nicole Adams was born on August 6th 2003 @ 12:50pm. She weighed 7lbs. 7ozs. and 20inches. So far she has blue eyes and brown hair. She was delivered at Evanston Hospital and then transfered to Childrens in Chicago. ^i^ My pregnancy wasn't so good. I had so much heartburn and had to go to the hospital two times to get rehydrated. I got so sick. When it was time for our 23rd week ultrasound the nurse didn't like what she saw. She went and got another nurse, she too had found something she didn't like. She told us to got back to our doctor and she would explain everything. She sent us to a high risk doctor in Evanston, Il. We live in Waukegan, Il. so it is a 45 min. to an hour drive to get to the hospital. We had to get a Level 2 ultrasound to see what it was that the baby had. We had I think about 6 ultrasounds done. The doctor told us the baby had Congetital Diaphragmatic Hernia which means there is a hole in the diaphram. I asked him what the sex of the baby was and he said the baby is a girl. We were very happy to hear that, a boy and a girl. Hey we were done. The rest of my pregnancy went okay. On August 5th 2003 at about 11:00pm I told my husband we need to go to the hospital, it was time. I got an epidural and it slowed me down. On August 6th at 12:50pm Brianna was born. The doctors said that she might not cry after she comes out, because one of her lungs were small. When she came out she made a little sound like a cry. I wasn't able to hold her because they had to get a breathing tube into her. That night they transfered her to Children's Hospital in Chicago. My mother couldn't wait for Brianna to get here. My mom wasn't feeling very good when Brianna was born. On August 8th very early morning my dad and sister had to take my mom to the hospital. She was having shortness of breath and soreness in the legs. That night she was felling good, she had visitors. A friend of mine was watching my son because I was still at the hospital and my husband had to work and went and saw Brianna. My friend took Zachary to the hospital to see my mom. I was on the phone with my mom when they walked in the room and I heard the happiness in her voice when she saw Zachary. On August 9th my mom passed away. We weren't sure what really happened so we ordered an autopsy. The doctor told us the underlying cause of her passing was pancreatic cancer. We had no idea and we wouldn't have known if we didn't do that. I got out of the hospital Friday afternoon and went to see Brianna as soon as possible. My sister came and picked me up on Sat. to go see our mom and my dad told us she didn't make it. I didn't even get to see my mom and my mom only got to see a picture of Brianna. My husband and I went ot see Brianna everyday. Brianna was on the ECMO machine, which is a heart and lung bypass machine for 9 days. The doctors had every high hopes for her as so did we. I couldn't beleive all of the machines she was on plus all of the tubes. Brianna fought for 22 days with us. I guess she really needed to be with her Grandpa and Grandma. We miss them all so much. Brianna was 7lbs. 7oz. and 20 inches. My husband and I really thought that Brianna was going to be okay. We both decided that we only wanted to have two children. I decided to get my tubes tied. We really thought Brianna was going to get better and come home to us. Well we are now in the process of my doctor writing an appeal to see if our insurance will cover getting my tubes reversed. It took me awhile to be able to write all of this I'm sorry it's so long. Thank you for reading.
