Jack went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 1, 2004 at age 79. He was born December 10, 1924 in Beatrice, Nebraska. Jack was a World War II veteran and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was extremely athletic and loved to hike and ride his bike. He had a love for nature and the great outdoors. Always in top shape, he resembled the image of an all-American man.
Jack was a very strong roll model for those around him, including his famliy. He loved his family greatly and although sometimes appeared rough on the exterior, was incredilbly soft on the interior.
He taught math in Greely, CO, for 3 years and at Wilson High School, LB, for 27 years. His love for the subject reflected in his teaching and he was very skilled at solving any difficult math equation.
Known as "Grandpa" to 6 granddaughters, Jack was always playful with the girls and his affection for them was obvious. He loved spending time with them, as they did with him.
Jack was a father to his daughter, Nancy; son, Mark; and son, Scott, and his wife, Marilyn. He had a way of motivating everyone in his life to do their very best and to work their very hardest at everything. Jack was definitely an amazingly strong individual with an appreciation for the environment and those dear to him.
Jack also had a strong passion for Jesus Christ and dedicated his life to loving Him. Even though Jack experienced many difficulties in his life, with his diabetes and other health issues, he never gave up and always remained strong and his strength came from his faith in the Lord.
Jack is now finally at home with God and although he left some pretty large shoes to fill (literally!), his legacy wil live on forever and the joy that he is now experiencing should be reason to celebrate. Celebrate that he is very much alive and will be reunited with us on that day and until then, we can only try and love God the way he did and not give up, even when times get tough.
