Mollett, Joy Prudence (1956 - 1999)

This page is dedicated to a loving Wife and devoted Mother ......

~ Joy Mollett ~

11th May 1956 - 28th July 1999

Joy's Headstone

You meant the world to all of us , and although our hearts were crushed . We know that nothing loved is ever lost , and you were loved so much .

We both woke to a beautiful crisp, cold morning in our New Zealand home and lay there in bed talking about the day ahead. My Wife mentioned a nagging headache that she had put up with for two or three days but said today , she would visit the Doctor after dropping the kid's off at school. She then asked for a cuddle , as she was cold , and with that I told her to stay in bed and rest and I would get up and fix breakfast and get the kid's up for school.Little did I know that it would be the last cuddle and the last time I would see my Wife alive.Something as simple as an embrace/cuddle , but I will treasure that moment forever. After finishing those tasks , I returned to our bedroom to find her dead. She had died from an aneurism (brain haemorrhage). I am so grateful that she did not suffer but simply passed away in her sleep with no pain. Joy was a loving wife for 23years and a devoted mother to her three children..... Clinton,Kelli and Khan.

Joy......a loving Wife and devoted Mother.

Clinton, Khan ,Wayne and Kelli.

Joy , far left , and her sisters and brothers , ( photo 1964 ).

Joy came from a large Family by anyones standards ,there were sixteen children. Joy is on the far left ,next to her twin brother John. Sadly ,two other sisters lives were cut short by the same thing that Joy died of.They were Ruth and Joanne ......standing far right,at the rear, the first and second girls. There is a boy and a girl missing from this photo ,yet unborn ,although the boy ,Clement, was to die at birth. The youngest in the photo ,sitting on the knee of the oldest member of the family ,is Lance ......he wrote a poem for Joy and read it at her service. It reads......

" JOYBELLS "

She dreamt a dream a lifetime ago, And in that dream she said, Don’t cry for me my time has come, The Lord’s prepared my bed.

So lay me down that I might rest, As my Mother waits for me, And in her arms is where I’ll sleep, As it was meant to be.

Think of me when you feel the wind, Rustling thru your hair, Look up at night to the brightest star, And imagine me up there.

For I’m looking down on heavens door, Sending love anew, So remember me for I will be there, Watching over you.

And from your Family .........

MEMORIES

A Mother's touch, A Wife's kiss, A grieving Family, You're greatly missed.

An empty house, An empty chair, A Mother's love, No longer there.

A broken heart, Tear filled eye, Another soul to fill the sky.

Many memories in our minds, Some we laugh, Some we cry.

That's all we have to hold on too, Only memories, Of what once was you.

Background music is a segment of Ben Harper's 'Waiting on an Angel' ...... Kelli asked for this to be played as Joy was taken from the service to the hearse.
