Mary Alice Smith died on Wednesday, December 22, 1999 at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. She died of lung cancer. She was 72 years old. She lived in Cold Spring, Kentucky and was a homemaker and a member of Main Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Ray Smith; daughters, Donna Hayes and Judy Baker; sons, Raymond Smith and Gary Smith; a brother, Frank Price; two granddaughters, Paula Rains and Maria Smith; five grandsons, Todd Smith, Michael Adams, Tyler Smith, Brian Smith, and Dustin Smith; and two great-grandchildren, Dalton Rains and Emily Smith.
Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 24, 1999 at the Cooper Funeral Home in Grants Lick. It was a very snowy, cold, and sad day.
Mary Smith will be missed by all, but I will especially miss her because she did a lot for me while she was living and I appreciate her for it. Her favorite excerpt from the Bible states,
"The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters: He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake..Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever…
