Robert Abeyta
Robert Abeyta
June 11 1984 - January 7 2000
My son Robert Abeyta was 16 when he was brutally murdered on the Taos
Pueblo Indian reservation on January 7, 2000, by three boys. They beat
him up and took his body to a river and left him there to die. He died
from hypotermia as a result of the beating. Robert was a very loving
young man who loved to do silversmithing. He was very talented and loved
his family.
Robert never had a chance to graduate or have a girlfriend. I will never
know his children.
Robert, your life was cut short leaving me to wonder aimlessly in grief.
I miss you so very much sweetheart.
My heart has a hole that aches. I want to die and be with
you. I know that you would want me to live a long life but the way that
you went is so unbearable. I pray that God took you in his arms without
suffering. My baby, know that I
love you and will always love you and will see you someday. I will kiss
you and hug you a thousand times when I get to be with you someday in
heaven. I will see you again son. Until that time, watch over me and
stay at my side. You are out of sight, but never out of mind.
Lovingly,
Mom, Joann Marcus
