Thomas Quinn Turner Jr. was born on November 18, 1922 in Milville,

Arkansas, to Thomas Quinn  Turner and Maude Atlanta (Vaughan)

Turner. 

He retired from the United States Navy in November of 1966

as a Master Chief Petty Officer, after 40 years of  dedicated service to his

country.  Thomas was stationed on the U.S.S.- Constellation and was a

decorated World War-II veteran.  The latter portion of his Naval career

was spent working for the Civil Service at North Island Naval Air

Station in San Diego, California.  He was an instructor of electronics

engineering.                                                              

 

Thomas was ordained as a Minister of the Gospel on April 28, 1974 at 

Harbison Canyon Baptist Church in El Cajon, California, where he later

was called to Pastor.  He continued to dedicate his life to the Ministry 

and served at various churches throughout the San Diego area until 

he went to be with the LORD on March 25,2000.  

 

He is survived by his wife, Faye Turner; three children by birth:  

his son Thomas Q. Turner III of Texas, daughter Susan Turner of 

San Diego, and daughter Erin Macaluso of Mission Viejo; adopted children:

Barbara Turner of San Diego; step-children:  Dee Dobbler, Roy Jeys, Debbie 

Hanson, Patti Dale, and Richard Geerts III; and a host of grandchildren,

great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Thomas was preceded in death

by his siblings, and an adopted daughter, Linda Turner.
