Due to serious security problems with PHP, new memorials creation requests will not be accepted, nor will access to the Jade web page editor be allowed.

PHP is the programming language that Memoriam.org uses for its memorial editor Jade. The security problem with PHP is related to file uploading, and the only way to fix this problem is to upgrade PHP or disable file uploading.

We are working with our ISP to upgrade the version of PHP that Memoriam.org uses. Unfortunately the security problems with PHP couldn't have come at a worse time, as the ISP where Memoriam.org is hosted is upgrading its entire system, resulting in the PHP upgrade being delayed. As such the only other solution to the security problem is to disable file uploading, with the side effect that memorials can no longer be worked on.

This has no affect on memorials that are not being worked on. This change will only affect new memorials which are being updated by their memorial authors.

We are looking at moving Memoriam.org to a new ISP since we don't think our current ISP will be able to upgrade PHP anytime soon. As soon as we have moved to a new ISP we will begin accepting new memorial creation requests again and allow current memorial authors to continue to work on their memorials.

We apologize for this inconvenience yet have no choice in this matter as the alternative is to have the entire site's security exploited if we simply do nothing.
